Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce

The Evelyn Hone College of Applied Arts and Commerce is an art and technical school in Lusaka in Zambia . It was founded in 1963 and named after Evelyn Dennison Hone . The school is subordinate to the "Professional Development" department of the Ministry of Science and Technology.

The Evelyn Hone College corresponds to the German technical colleges and art academies. It offers various degrees and a diploma as a degree. The curricula are considered not fully developed, hardly coordinated with one another and remain internal. Nevertheless, a number of artists from this academy have found their way onto the national and international art market.

The faculties of music, fine arts (painting, sculpture, installation, multimedia, video etc.), librarianship, documentation, human resources, marketing, scientific and technical assistants, biomedicine, pharmacy, printing technology, radiography and journalism are located in Lusaka , the Africa literature center in Kitwe .

The 2006 president is Sam Kangwa.

Students from Evelyn Hone College founded Honarts in 1993 and continue to run this association as exhibition training today. Honarts is associated with the Zambia National Visual Arts Council .
