eVendi Arena

The sports field served as a football stadium from 2005-2008 under the name eVendi Arena . During this time, the arena had 4,175 uncovered seats and around 2,000 standing places. The Hamburg Blue Devils were the owners of the stands and sanitary facilities as well as the main rights of use, making them the first German football team to have their own stadium. It was named after the company eVendi, which deals with internet price research. The arena was created within a few weeks through unbureaucratic cooperation between the HBD and its sponsors, the Hamburg Sports Office and the Hamburg-Altona District Office and the free help of fans. On June 18, 2005 the arena was inaugurated by the president of the HBD and the district office manager from Altona. The Hamburg Blue Devils played the first game in the history of the Evendi Arena against the Düsseldorf Panthers with a narrow 10: 9 victory. Hamburg's defensive back Lee Johnson scored the first points with a touchdown.
