ESPOL (abbreviation for E xecutive S ystems P roblem O riented L anguage ) was a superset of Algol 60 (or an extension of Burroughs Extended ALGOL ), which possessed (s) capabilities that were later known as Mohols ( Machine-oriented High Order Languages ) became known.

The language was used to write the Master Control Program .

The one-pass compiler for ESPOL was able to compile 250 lines / second. ESPOL was replaced by NEWP .
