Expert interview

The expert interview is a survey method that, when applied in a scientific context, is one of the qualitative methods of social research. In its simplest form, this method aims at expert knowledge. This form of knowledge is bound to its carriers, the experts . In interviews with experts is a special form of semi-structured interviews . In addition to journalistic interviews, political hearings and legal witness interviews, the expert interview can also be counted among the so-called informational interviews. Expert interviews are among the most frequently used procedures in empirical social research, even if they are treated marginally in the methodological and methodological debate and the term itself is largely imprecise.
