Extra day score

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Extra Day Scores (EDS) offer the golfer the opportunity to improve his handicap outside of a handicap tournament . This means that in addition to tournaments, certain “private rounds” are also effective.

target group

EDS rounds can be played by all players with a DGV master handicap higher than 4.4 (handicap class 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6). Any number of Extra Day Scores can be submitted. Players in handicap class 1 (+ range up to 4.4) are not allowed to play EDS rounds.

The first generation of a DGV handicap of handicap class 5 can only take place in a handicap effective competition. Increases (read: handicap worsening) do not take place in handicap class 6 (37-54), but in handicap class 4, if the buffer zone is not reached, the handicap is raised by 0.1. In target class 5, if the buffer zone is not reached, the increase is 0.2. You will also be increased by 0.1 if you do not submit your scorecard to the club secretariat on time after the EDS round.

Innovations 2016

1. EDS rounds can now be played on all German courses. It doesn't have to be the home club anymore. This is particularly interesting for "remote members", as they often live far away from their home club.

2. Starting in 2016, you can now also play under 36 from over 36 using EDS.

Example: Player with HDC 38 plays 40 points. He confirmed his handicap with 36 Stableford points . In this case he played 4 points better than his handicap. Up to 36 there is one point HCP improvement per point and from HCP 36 there is 0.5 point improvement. The named player improves his handicap from 38 to 35.

3. No more deterioration up to handicap 26.5. From 2016 handicaps in handicap class 5 (handicap 26.5 to 36.0) will no longer be increased.

4. From 2016 onwards all players from HCP54 can count and not as before HCP 36 or better.

5. The first handicap (usually EGA requirement 54) must actually be achieved with the necessary Stableford net points from 2016 and will no longer be automatically awarded when the golf course examination is passed. When the player obtains the license to play, the player will in future receive the entry "PR" in his master sheet and on the DGV ID card.
