Eyvindarfjörður is a bay in the West Fjords of Iceland .
After the country takers book moved here first Eyvindur Herröðarson. His brothers Ófeigur and Ingólf settled in the neighboring fjords to the south, which are also named after them. The headland Engines separates the fjord to the north to Drangavík Bay and to the south Hrúteyjarnes to Ófeigsfjörður . As Eggert Ólafsson and Bjarni Pálsson in the 18th century Strandirthere were still houses on the headland Engines. The settlement below the Drangavíkurfjalls has long since fallen into disrepair. In 1787 a merchant ship ran aground in the bay. The Sýslumaður did not behave according to the law and enriched himself with the recovered goods. He was later removed from office.
