Promotion community for good hearing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Hearing aid acousticians from all over Germany are involved in the Fördergemeinschaft Gutes Hören GmbH (FGH) . This interest group was founded in 1966 by two associations of hearing aid acousticians and Department 18 -  Audiometers and Hearing Aids  - of the Central Association of the Electronic Industry (ZVEI). In 1999 the Association of the Hearing Aid Industry (VHI), which had taken over the shares in the ZVEI, left the FGH as a partner. Since then, the support group has been continued by the European Union of Hearing Aid Acousticians (EUHA) and the Association of German Hearing Aid Acousticians (FDH).

The aim of the support group is to educate people about the importance of good hearing in all areas of life. The association initiates measures that help improve hearing and thus the quality of life of the population. It provides information about the range of services of the hearing aid acoustician trade, about the technical and social competence of hearing aid acousticians for the benefit of hearing impaired people.

In order to do justice to this goal and to reach the local people, the sponsoring association seeks contact with journalists, doctors, teachers and many other multipliers . Another important purpose is communication within the hearing acoustics industry.

The high-profile campaigns include the “Hearing Tour with the Hörmobil”, the “Week of Hearing” that takes place every September, the information portal www.fgh-info.de and much more.
