The management academy of the Federal Employment Agency ( FBA ) in Lauf an der Pegnitz serves the Federal Employment Agency to qualify its employees. It was opened in 1957 as the Lauf administration school. In 1997 it was renamed the BA Leadership Academy. During the time of the administration school, the house was responsible for technical training and further education, especially for the higher and higher service of the labor authority.

Structure and activity

The FBA essentially consists of the two areas of management skills and strategy communication and central educational services . The first area is responsible for the qualification of the senior executives of the BA, such as the chairmen of the management of the employment agencies. In the second area, Central Education Services, training concepts and educational products are developed for employees of the BA. This includes brief instructions for the workplace, qualification series or further development and the use of new forms of learning, such as blended learning measures.

The offer of the management academy for the field of leadership competence and strategy communication can be found in the annual FBA program. With the Leadership Compass, the Leadership Academy provides BA executives with the basic work on leadership. In 2011, the Federal Employment Agency won the “Initiative Prize for Education and Training” of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the qualification series “Taking a lead” .

The BA's trainee program received the ABSOLVENTA trainee award in 2013.

The Federal Employment Agency received the seal of excellence of the German Education Award in 2013, 2014 and 2016 for its education and talent management.

In 2015, the management academy was awarded third place in the “Excellence in Leadership Award” of the University of St. Gallen for its “Management Support” and “Leadership Experience” programs.
