FWSchiller (Pianofortefabrik)

The piano factory FWSchiller (Russian manufacturer name also Ф.В. Шиллер) in Saint Petersburg was a manufacturer of concert pianos and grand pianos . The company was founded in 1847 by Fjodor Wazilowich Schiller (Friedrich Wilhelm Schiller), a former dealer of Hermann Lichtenthal's instruments . In 1857 Schiller took over the production of Lichtenthal, the Petersburg piano builder who had died. The factory had 60 employees at the time. The factory was later continued as Schiller & Beck. It was taken over by Werner before 1882 and liquidated a short time later.
