FC Latin Winterthur

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Latin Winterthur FC was a football club from Winterthur . The club took part in the game operation of the second highest league in the country for a few years, but was dissolved again soon afterwards.

Latin Winterthur was founded in the autumn of 1901 after FC Winterthur had "de-welcomed" (in a commemorative publication of FC Winterthur there was talk of a "club heavily riddled with novels "), as a result of which, according to FC Winterthur club chronicles, the francophone players became independent left FC Winterthur and founded their own club, which competed with FCW. This competition was quickly won by FC Winterthur, at least Latin FC Winterthur soon disappeared from the chronicles of Swiss football after a few seasons.

In 1906 the club took part in the Series B of the Eastern Swiss Championship (which was a different competition from the Swiss Championship) and was defeated in the finals as group winners of the Zurich region to the winner of the St. Gallen group, “St. Gallen IV », equal to 0:12.
