The FC Seefeld Zurich is a football club from the Stadtzürcherischen Quartier Seefeld . FC Seefeld is known for its good youth department, from which among others the Swiss record international Heinz Hermann comes. The 1st team of FC Seefeld currently plays in the 2nd regional division. Felix Bollmann is the coach.

history

In May 1931, FC Seefeld was founded on the Wonneberg. In an initial expansion phase, Neumünster was the appropriate description. The name change to FC Seefeld ultimately meant the association change and thus the beginning of today's club structure.

Today the club has over 750 members, sponsors and patrons and is a member of the Swiss Football Association .

The changes made by Richard Bauer (1973), Oskar Bouli and Heinz Hermann (1976) and Herbert Hermann (1977) to the Grasshopper Club Zurich are also due to youth work.

The successful performance of these players in the national league and in the national team gave the formerly unknown neighborhood club some publicity and the name "Zurich's talent factory". Even today, FC Seefeld has a large junior division, the first teams each play in the best regional leagues (Coca Cola League).

In 2001 FC Seefeld celebrated its 70th anniversary.

Lengg sports facility

FC Seefeld plays its home games at the Lengg sports complex. Only the 1st team had to switch to the Looren sports complex in Zurich-Witikon for regulatory reasons, until the main place in the 1st division was expanded to make it suitable. In addition, a new artificial turf pitch was built so that there are now two artificial turf pitches and one grass pitch. In addition, a new restaurant with a large sun terrace was built in 1998, from which one has a wonderful view over the entire main square. In 2002 the terrace was expanded again. The Lengg sports complex can be easily reached by public transport.

Futsal

The futsal team of FC Seefeld became Swiss champions in 2007/08 and 2008/09 and therefore took part in the UEFA Futsal Cup twice.
