The Fibo (proper spelling: FIBO, short for fi tness and Bo dybuilding) is the world's leading trade show for fitness, wellness and health in Cologne , which takes place on an annual basis since its founding 1985th FIBO was founded in 1985 by Kurt Thelen and Volker Ebener. On May 10, 1990, it was sold to Blenheim International Deutschland GmbH, a predecessor of today's Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH. With more than 1,105 exhibitors and over 145,000 visitors, Fibo is now the world's largest trade fair for fitness, wellness and health.

history

The fair was founded in 1985 by Kurt Thelen and Volker Ebener in Cologne. In 1991 the fair changed location and took place on the exhibition grounds in Essen until 2012 .

The first event had 69 exhibitors and approximately 10,000 visitors; in 2000 there were 450 exhibitors and 69,600 visitors. In 2005 the fair had 339 exhibitors.

In 2005 the fair was split up into the brands "Fibo" and "Fibo Power". From then on, Fibo Power dealt with the topics of bodybuilding , strength and martial arts , while Fibo dealt with the topics of fitness , wellness and health . Since 2009, a new focus has been on health , which the trade fair company calls "Fibomed".

In 2013 the fair returned to Cologne and has been taking place at Koelnmesse since then . In 2019 FIBO had 1105 exhibitors and 145,000 visitors, including around 84,000 trade visitors.
