FIGUEGL

FIGUGEGL is an acronym for the advertising slogan " Fondue isch guet und git e gueti Luune" ( Swiss German for "Fondue is good and puts you in a good mood").

The advertising slogan was launched in the 1950s by the advertising agency Gisler + Gisler and the then Swiss Cheese Union to increase cheese consumption; when the phrase was well known, the acronym was added. The campaign continues to this day and the meaning of the acronym is well known in German-speaking Switzerland . The advertising is also used in restaurants.

Since 1994, a new promotion campaign has been promoting "RIGUGEGL" instead of "FIGUGEGL", which stands for " Raclette isch guet und git e gueti Luune".
