Facção Central is a Brazilian rap band.

It was launched in São Paulo in 1989 ; Founding members were Nego (now known as Rapper Mag ), Eduardo and Jurandir . Nego and Jurandir later left the band and were replaced by Dum Dum and Garga .

At the beginning of 1998 Garga left the band again; Erick 12 was initially a new member, but later switched to production for Facção Central.

Eduardo (composer and performer) and Dum Dum (performer) were born in favelas and grew up in an environment of social violence, crime, drug trafficking and addiction. This violent past became a source of inspiration for Eduardo's political songs.

In 2013 Eduardo announced that he would be leaving the group due to differences with Dum Dum.
