Expert advisor for service management

The specialist advisor for service management is an advanced training course in the service industry that concludes with an examination at a chamber of industry and commerce . The specialist advisor is classified at DQR level 5 by the DQR bodies (German Qualifications Framework).

Basics

The qualification as a specialist service management consultant is designed for the demanding interaction with customers in the service sector . The framework curriculum published by the DIHK in 2017 has a scope of 450 teaching hours. The vocational training committees of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry independently determine the regulations for admission to and examinations. The written exam is taken on two days. The oral exam follows on another day.

Contents of the exam

The written exam consists of four subjects:

  1. Business Management (90 minutes)
  2. Communication and conflict management (120 minutes)
  3. Organize and lead (90 minutes)
  4. Service management (150 minutes)

Furthermore, after successfully passing the written exams, the subject becomes an oral exam

  • Service management (60 minutes)

checked in a situation-related conversation.

Admission requirements

The admission requirements for the advanced training examination can be met in three different ways:

  1. Degree in a "recognized service-specific or service-specific training occupation" and then at least six months of practical experience
  2. Degree in “another recognized training occupation” or a degree followed by at least one year of practical experience
  3. No degree recognized by the IHK, but at least four years of practical experience

The practical experience that has been gained must have "substantive links" to the tasks that the legal provision describes.
