Professional association for operational and rainwater use

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Professional Association operating and rainwater harvesting eV (fbr) is a nationwide association for the interests of stormwater management , in particular the use of rain water , the industrial water use, rainwater infiltration begins. The fbr understands its task in the sense of a provision for the future and taking into account all aspects of water and climate protection as well as science and research. As a non-profit, politically and economically independent organization, it works mainly in the field of decentralized water management.

history

Fbr was founded in Darmstadt in 1995 . The motivation for the establishment in November 1995 was the controversial and partly irrelevant discussion on rainwater use, the need for coordination and promotion of research and development as well as the collection and dissemination of information. An important consensus of the founding group was a common and objective stance on operational and rainwater use, through which ultimately this technology should be promoted. Interested parties should have a central institution through the professional association in order to obtain information and further training, but also be given the opportunity to get to know other people from the field of operational and rainwater use.

tasks

The purpose of the association is to maintain the natural water balance , to save drinking water and reduce wastewater, taking into account all aspects of environmental protection and to bring together those who are active and interested in the field of operational and rainwater use, rainwater management and the preservation of the natural water cycle .

The focus of the activity is on the development and updating of specialist publications, the collaboration on subject-specific standards and the exchange of information between those interested in the subject. To this end, the fbr holds conferences and seminars and is present at the relevant trade fairs. In addition, the fbr publishes the magazine fbr-wasserspiegel four times a year with articles and information as well as books in the fbr series on operational and rainwater use at irregular intervals.

magazine

The association magazine fbr-wasserspiegel appears quarterly and informs the professional world about topics related to rainwater use, rainwater management, gray water recycling, handling of rainwater in cities and municipalities as well as information and reports from the industry. Every two years, the fbr market overview of rainwater use and rainwater management appears.
