Thread sealing

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Thread sealing is a bookbinding process . Here, when are folding short, plastic-coated Connection threads through the spine stapled and under pressure and heat fused together.

With thread sealing, clips are inserted into the back of the folded sheet with a special thread and sealed with the paper under the influence of heat . The thread of a thread stitching holds the sheets of a folding sheet together and at the same time attaches the individual folding sheets to one another. Thread-sealed books have a longer shelf life than simple perfect-bound books.

The advantage of thread sealing is that the product can be opened up to the waistband. Thread sealing is also significantly cheaper and more time-saving than conventional thread stitching . The disadvantage is that individual layers can become detached from a book after prolonged use, since the layers are only glued to one another.
