history

Production started in March 1990 by Shahid Bagheri Industries, possibly with North Korea's support, when Iran's Defense Minister Akbar Torkan announced that the Fajr-3 would be mass-produced.

It was announced on November 6, 1996 that the Fajr-3 was developed by Parchin Missile Industries Division of the Iranian Defense Industries Organization (DIO), with a range of 40 km, a caliber of 240 mm and equipped with a solid rocket engine.
