Tramline offset

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tramline offset (also called offset for short ) is a structural measure for inner-city access roads , residential streets and parking lots to calm traffic . The lane or tramline is laterally offset and the aim is to reduce the driving speed. In addition, a varied street space can be created and a long straight street can be optically interrupted. The offset length is chosen to be as small as possible in order to effectively reduce the speed.
