Route testing and monitoring

Under the driving road test and monitoring ( FPÜ ) refers to a functionality in electronic interlocking, with which the operator can check in case of failure, which elements the whole forming a driveway prevent.

It was introduced to make rail operations safer. If a route is not or not completely enters, for example, when the changeover of the switches in the relevant field will not be automatically confirmed, or the system does not consider a travel path to be free, the operator can command the FP display the faulty elements. He can bypass individual elements by hand with the FPÜ command if he has taken operational substitute measures. In this case he can give a substitute signal or a caution signal on the basis of a sufficiently checked and secured route .
