Traction current automat

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The traction current automat is the main fuse for the motors in trams . This interrupts the power supply to the motors in certain situations. This is the case, for example, with emergency braking , but can also occur when mechanically controlled trams ("cranked vehicles") start up if the tram driver shifts up too quickly and too much energy is supplied to the motors in too short a time .
