Faisal al-Qassem ( Arabic فيصل القاسم, DMG Faiṣal Al-Qāssam , born June 3, 1961 in Al-Thalah near As-Suwaida ) is a Syrian editor of talk shows for the Arab news channel Al Jazeera . He has both Syrian and British citizenship.

Life

Al-Qassem comes from a Druze family. He studied drama at the University of Hull before going to Al-Jazeera. Al-Qassem is popular in the Arab world through its broadcast on Al Jazeera. Before starting there, he worked for eight years as a producer of political and cultural programs for BBC Arabic Radio and TV. He is known as an opponent of the Syrian regime.

criticism

In May 2015, during an appearance on television, he asked if all Alawites in Syria should be killed, which led to heavy criticism.

Private

Al-Qassem is married and has three children, a daughter and two sons.
