A collapsible tank is a container for liquids that is made up of a flexible or semi-rigid shell. In contrast to containers and tanks made of steel or plastic, such as B. IBC containers , a collapsible tank can be folded up when empty. It then only takes up a fraction of the tank volume. Frequently used cover materials are plastic tarpaulins that are welded to be impervious to liquids and provided with connections for filling, ventilation and emptying.

Among other things, collapsible tanks are used in military field tank farms , for pumping extinguishing water over long distances and in disaster control ( equipment vehicles for decontamination personnel ).
