Family work (pedagogy)
Family work is a generic term for projects and aid measures that aim to promote families. The spectrum ranges from community- sponsored leisure activities and educational measures for parents and children as part of community work to individual assistance in the context of advice and measures according to SGB XIII . Although the municipalities as state organs are responsible for the special protection of the family according to Article 6 of the Basic Law (1) , the principle of subsidiarity applies here , according to which the state only participates insofar as the need is not covered by its own resources or by independent agencies can be. In practice, family work is therefore mainly done by clubs, initiatives, educational institutions, churches, charities and many others.
