Catch shot (torpedo)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The coup de grace with a torpedo called in naval warfare the shot, with an already severely damaged or incapacitating been shot or manövrierunfähiges ship to be sunk. These catch shots are usually documented separately as such. In German war diaries, the abbreviation Tf for "Torpedo-Fangschuß" was used.
