Farlow Herbarium of Cryptogamic Botany

The Farlow Herbarium of Cryptogamic Botany (German Farlow Herbarium of Cryptogams ) at Harvard University comprises over 1.4 million objects. It contains herbarium specimens , including 75,000 type specimens , as well as the private libraries of the donors.

The collection was founded in 1919 by the estate of William Gilson Farlow . Later she also received the scientific papers of Edwin Bunting Bartram (moss), Edward Angus Burt (mushrooms), Roland Thaxter (mushrooms), Edward Tuckerman (mushrooms) and Carroll William Dodge (lichen).
