External thoracic fascia

The fascia thoracic externa would in this image between the external intercostal muscles (external intercostal muscle) and the subcutaneous fatty tissue shown (subcutanus fat), on the external intercostal muscles are.

The external thoracic fascia covers the external intercostal muscle and the periosteum of the ribs as an anterior fascia (front, outer). The origins of the pectoralis major , pectoralis minor , serratus anterior, and obliquus externus abdominis muscles penetrate this fascia.
