The facade is a German trade journal for planners, architects, civil engineers, metal workers and processors with a focus on facades as well as decision-makers from industry, trade and public administration. It has been published since 1992. From planning and implementation to maintenance and renovation, it covers all important areas of professional facade design. The facade appears six times a year and focuses on the building envelope with the components facade elements, windows, doors, gates and sun protection. All materials and construction types of the facade are covered - from glass facades and mullion and transom facades to curtain-type, rear-ventilated facades and ETICS systems to exposed concrete and wooden facades.

In addition to the printed booklet, the facade is represented on the Internet with an additional online portal. News and current developments from the facade industry are published on the website.

The facade is published by the publishing house Handwerk GmbH. The specialist publisher led by Rüdiger Gottschalk is based in Düsseldorf. Jens Meyerling has been the editor-in-chief of the facade since 2010.
