history

In 1931, the company's founder, Felix Brünger, began manufacturing wooden profile strips in the basement of his parents' house in Herford.

In 1937 the product portfolio was expanded to include office furniture. During the course of the first twelve years, Febrü decisively expanded its market position. In the decades to come, the workforce grew steadily, and the growing production meant that new properties were rented and new halls built over and over again.

Febrü was one of the first furniture manufacturers to also deliver organizational furniture with a robust plastic surface in 1964, which is still used today as a common surface for office furniture.

In 1980 the annual turnover was 36 million marks. In 1993 Febrü produced at the locations in Herford, Preußisch Oldendorf - Getmold, Sycow (PL) and Srem (PL) on a total of 45,000 m². In the mid-1990s, the company employed over 1000 people, 400 of them at the Herford location.

In 1996 Felix Brünger Büro- und Sitzmöbel GmbH & Co. KG filed for bankruptcy. At that time, Febrü was internationally positioned, at times even a trendsetter in the world of the modern office. In November of the same year, four former managers at Febrü and two specialist retail partners founded the company "Nedolux" as part of a management buyout with fewer than 40 employees.

With the start-up, the company was soon back in the black. The naming rights could be bought back and one produced again under the name "Febrü". The temporarily in neighboring frets housed woodworking , was able to move to Herford, has been so since then made again entirely in Herford in 1999 again.

The company produces exclusively in Herford in East Westphalia and manufactures office furniture in the two production areas of wood and metal processing. With a vertical range of manufacture of 95%, individual customer requests can be met. The furniture manufacturer presents its product portfolio for customers and sales partners in two company-owned showrooms in Herford and Neuendettelsau near Nuremberg.
