Federación Ecuatoriana de Indios
The Federación Ecuatoriana de Indios (FEI) (German: Ecuadorian Indian Federation) is an organization of the indigenous movement in Ecuador . It was founded in 1944 as part of the Confederación de Trabajadores del Ecuador (CTE), which was related to the Partido Comunista del Ecuador . She saw herself as representing the hacienda workers and Huasipungueros and as such fought for land reform . When this was finally carried out in 1964 and 1973, the FEI lost much of its importance. Today only a few indigenous people are still organized in it.
