Resilient pressure piece

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A spring-loaded pressure piece is a machine component . It consists of a threaded sleeve with an internal spring that acts on a ball or a pressure pin.

Layout and function

Spring-loaded plungers are used for fast indexing, positioning and fixing of objects and as push and pull pins. The sleeve is designed as a thread or in a plug-in variant and is usually made of free-cutting steel .

The spring force is designed for the purpose. At high temperatures or exposure to aggressive chemicals, plastic balls or balls made of silicon nitride are used, the threaded sleeve is then made of stainless steel. Spring plungers with anti-twist protection enable fastening without a screw.
