The field railway of the palm oil factory Poeloe Radja was a narrow-gauge railway on an oil palm plantation in Pulau Rakyat (Pulu Raja) 35 km southwest of Tanjungbalai (en) in the Asahan Regency (en) on the Indonesian island of Sumatra .
Route
Rubber Cultuur Maatschappij Amsterdam (RCMA), a company registered in the Netherlands, began setting up palm oil plantations in the Dutch East Indies in 1908 . On her oil palm plantation in Pulau Rakyat she laid a field railway with a gauge of 600 mm, which was operated with imported steam locomotives. The field railway led from the date palm plantation to the oil mill.
