The boulder was originally located in the eponymous , neighboring townland ( Irish Bailte an Anama ) north of the Avonmore River ( Irish An Abhainn Mhor ), which flows southwest of Roundwood or Togher ( Irish An Tochar ). The boulder is 1.2 m long and 0.6 m wide and about 0.4 m thick. It has three cup-and-ring markings just off the center (two adjacent as an eight). To the north are seven bowls ( English cups ). Below the middle, along the edge of the stone, there are five more bowls in a line. All are 10.0 to 11.3 cm in diameter and are pecked unusually deep with up to 7.6 cm.

Two similar stones are said to have been found in neighboring fields.
