Fencing Confederation of Asia
The Fencing Confederation of Asia (FCA) is the Asian continental federation for the sport of fencing. The FCA, founded in 1988, has 39 national fencing associations as members. He organizes the annual Asian Championships .
history
A predecessor organization ( Fencing Confederation of Asia ) was founded as early as 1972 as part of the Olympic Games in Munich , but it was soon dissolved. It was not until 1988 that the organization was re-established as the Fencing Confederation of Asia during the Olympic Games in Seoul . The Asian championships have been held since 1989, cadet and junior championships since 1992 and championships in the U23 age group since 2012.

The FCA is governed by an Executive Committee composed of nine members elected by the General Assembly and eight appointed members. In addition, the President of the FIE is a member of the Executive Committee ex officio. Every four years - during the Summer Olympics - an election meeting is held; additional general meetings take place in parallel to major Asian fencing competitions. The current president (as of 2016) is Celso L. Dayrit from the Philippines .
