Ferdinand Zimmermann (actor)
Ferdinand Zimmermann ( 1804 in Meißen - between 1840 and 1902) was a German theater actor .
Life
Zimmermann was on stage from a young age. His first major engagement was in Dessau from 1826 to 1830, and later in Mecklenburg from 1830 to 1836. He then came to the German Theater in Copenhagen , where he worked as a director. Later he worked in Bremen and in 1840 in Cologne. The end of his artistic career was an engagement in Berlin, where he stayed until his death.
Zimmermann was a born comedian who did not exaggerate, never exceeded the boundaries of decency, did not hurt his audience with rude jokes, but knew how to entertain his audience through truth and naturalness. He particularly liked the "Eulenspiegel", "Knieriem" and "Fortunato" in the ambassador's and the "Valentin" in the spendthrift he might have among his best roles, if he had not prepared the Austrian dialect difficulties.
