Holiday workers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Holiday workers are a form of holiday employment in Austria.

Schoolchildren or students work in normal employment during the holiday season in order to be able to earn a living with the income they earn or to supplement it. In contrast to the holiday internship, the employment relationship does not result from the need to complete a compulsory internship. The employment relationship is usually concluded for a certain period of time, but can also be concluded for an indefinite period (notice periods may have to be observed here). The holiday employee is bound by instructions, fully integrated into the company and has an obligation to work .

In order to be able to work during the holidays, the holiday worker must have reached the age of 15 and completed compulsory schooling.

Reward

Holiday workers are entitled to remuneration according to the collective agreement .

Labor law position

There is a permanent employment relationship. The holiday worker is an employee within the meaning of general social insurance law. The labor law provisions, such as the Holiday Act, Continued Remuneration Act, Salaried Employees Act or collective agreement, apply to holiday workers. Holiday employees are insured against accidents free of charge during the mandatory internship.
