Fermíla

The Fermíla is a historical measure of area in Iceland . It has no official status these days and is hardly used anymore.

  • Lesbók Morgunblaðsins , July 25, 1937: Dýrasta fermíla í heimi - an aerial photo of the center of Chicago as "the most expensive fermíla in the world".
  • Vikan , January 21, 1971: Nú er Surtsey orðin 560 fet á hæð yfir sjávarmál og ein fermíla að flatarmáli : " Surtsey is now 560 feet above sea level and an area one fermíla ".
