Fernando Balda

Fernando Balda Flores is an Ecuadorian politician who was kidnapped in Bogotá , Colombia in July 2012 . He had fled there after he had turned from parliamentarian of the ruling party Alianza PAÍS in 2009 to an opponent of the government and a member of the opposition party Partido Sociedad Patriótica (PSP) and was accused of joint responsibility for the mutiny in Ecuador in 2010 . In July 2018, Ecuador asked Belgium by means of an " international arrest warrant " via Interpol to extradite the former Ecuadorian President Rafael Correa , who is said to be partly responsible for the kidnapping. Balda was extradited from Colombia to Ecuador in October 2012 to serve a prison sentence. He is married and has four kids.
