TV in Afghanistan

Television was first introduced in 1964 when a new organization called Radio Television Afghanistan (owned by the government) started a television station. After completing the feasibility study with subsidy from Japan, the construction work on the studio and transmitter buildings was completed in August 1978.

Television in Afghanistan is a popular entertainment medium with around 20 broadcasting stations and 2 international channels.
