Ferromatik stamp

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Ferromatik stamp is a hydraulic extension stamp that was manufactured by Klöckner-Ferromatik GmbH in Castrop-Rauxel between 1954 and 1992 in around 1.5 million copies. The Ferromatic ram was the most widely used hydraulic ram in German coal mining and was also exported. The Ferromatic stamp was able to apply up to 5 times higher application pressure and up to 20 times higher load than the previously widespread friction stamps. Since the application pressure was applied by an external hydraulic pump (setting pump) with approx. 160 bar and did not have to be applied by a hand pump by the Hauer , as was the case with competitor developments , the Ferromatic stamp proved itself and became a synonym for hydraulic single stamps. The advantage for the tiller lay directly in the higher setting speed and thus a noticeable time advantage and indirectly in the high setting pressure and the associated safety due to the better control of hanging walls.
