Production line

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A production line is a production system in which several processing stations are connected by material flow systems based on the line principle; Buffer sections can be integrated to compensate for cycle differences, set-up times or short-term faults in individual components.

The production line describes production from the perspective of the parts to be produced, while the production line describes production from the perspective of the production environment. There may be different production lines for different workpieces that use different parts of the production line.

Concrete characteristics that move away from the “street” or “line” character as development progresses are the conventional transfer line , the flexible transfer line , flexible manufacturing systems and agile manufacturing systems . An extension of the production line is the production line , which can contain an assembly line , for example .
