Festival of the Patios of Cordoba
The Festival of the Patios of Cordoba (Spanish name: Festival de los Patios Cordobeses ) is an event in Cordoba, Spain . It is a competition for the most beautiful courtyard in the city. During the second and third week of May, all interested visitors can visit the participating courtyards. In recent years it has become common practice for participants to signal that visitors are welcome by opening the door and displaying flowers. A street festival on Calle San Basilio concludes .
history
The competition dates back to 1933. In 1980 he was awarded as Fiesta de Interés Turístico Nacional . Since December 6, 2012, it has been one of the UNESCO- recognized elements on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity .
The winners
There are two winners every year, as both the most beautiful traditional and the most beautiful modern courtyard are awarded.
