Kovno fortress

The Kovno Fortress (lit. Kauno tvirtovė ) was a fortress built from 1882 to 1915 in the Tsarist Kovno governorate , in the Russian Empire . The remains are now in today's second largest Lithuanian city Kaunas . After the end of the Second World War, the forts were used as a prison again for a few years. Now there is a museum and a park.
