Live and act

The son of Fetschin Colyn and his second wife Mechtildis von der Hagen and brother of Wilhelm Colyn were first mentioned in 1484 as aldermen of the city of Aachen. In 1488, 1493, 1500 and from 1504 to 1506 he was elected mayor of the Free Imperial City of Aachen.

Fetschin Colyn was married to Agnes von Haren, daughter of lay judge Gerhard von Haren from the Dutch-German patrician family van Haren and heiress of Gut Kalkofen . Together they only had their daughter Anna (* around 1471), who married the Junker Werner von Merode-Houffalize (around 1467 - around 1527), which meant that Kalkofen remained in the possession of the Merode-Houffalize family for several generations. Fetschin Colyn is also assigned the ownership of Linzenich Castle, which remained in the possession of this family branch until around 1642. Through his mother, Fetschin, together with his brother Wilhelm, his brother-in-law Johann Ellerborn and the mayor Johann von Roide, became part of the community of heirs at Gut Roide / Raede, which later became Rahe Castle .
