Fire stick

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Fire stick is a piece of play equipment for spinning , a branch of juggling. In addition to igniting a stick with fire, it can also be illuminated, for example, with LEDs or with coatings that reflect black light. Most fire sticks have a winding with a wick tape at the ends, which is soaked in a fuel and ignited.

origin

The stick comes from the martial arts, where it is used as a weapon (see ).

Game types

Normal spinning

In normal spinning, the stick is held in one or both hands. By passing from one hand to the other and changing the direction of rotation relative to the axis of rotation , the rod rotates continuously for an observer without any visible change in direction.

Contact

Contact expands the artist's horizon of movement. With Contact, the stick is no longer held tightly in the hand the whole time, but is rotated around body parts.

Litters

In the throws, the sticks (usually three) are juggled and thrown in circular movements, whereby they are brought into rotation every time.
