The fire brigade display panel ( abbreviation FAT ) is an additional device of a fire alarm system (BMA) according to DIN 14675 .

A FAT is created according to DIN 14662: 2010-01 Fire Brigade - Fire Brigade Display Panel for Fire Alarm Systems . The FAT is used to display one or more alarm messages, faults or shutdowns.

Elements of the fire brigade display panel
Display
The first incoming alarm message is displayed. The zone appears first, the individual detectors separated by a slash.
  • The sequence of digits can optionally be supplemented with plain text .
  • If further alarm messages are received, the last message to appear is shown in the lower half of the display .

Scroll if more than two messages are pending, whereby the last message remains in the lower half of the display. The corresponding button is illuminated to indicate other existing messages.
Key display level
Change the display continuously between alarm status, fault and shutdown. The primary display level is always the alarm status. A 1

Button buzzer down / test
  • Short press: deactivation of the FAT buzzer, which is automatically activated when the fire alarm system is triggered.
  • Long press (> 5 sec.): Activation of the display, all LEDs, illuminated buttons and the buzzer.
A 1With FATs of the newer design, the button can be pressed longer to open the so-called history. Previous alarm triggers can be viewed here. This is particularly useful for the fire brigade if the building operator has forbidden to reset the fire alarm system before the emergency services arrive, since without the history function it can no longer be determined in this case which fire detector was triggered.

They can be made visible by switching the "Display level" button to the fault level / shutdown level.

The fire brigade display panel must be in the same room as the fire alarm control panel and in its immediate vicinity. It must be clearly visible, operable and freely accessible. If necessary, it is to be marked. Planning and assembly must be carried out in consultation with the responsible fire brigade .
