Fire service performance competition

In a fire brigade performance competition, the fire brigades or the competition groups of the fire brigades measure themselves against each other in their ability and speed, successful participants are awarded the national performance badge.

A distinction is made between two types of performance competition. Once the competition at the federal level and once the competition at the state level. Both are again divided into three levels; Bronze, silver and gold.

Eligibility to participate

All active members of the fire services in Germany who are physically and mentally suitable for service in the fire service are eligible to participate . Fire brigades from the member nations of the CTIF are also entitled to participate.

It can only be entered in a group that consists of members of the same fire brigade.

The national achievement badge in bronze

The Federal Achievement Badge in bronze is awarded to anyone who has taken part in a corresponding competition as a member of an approved competition group and this group has achieved the minimum number of 320 points according to the applicable regulations.

The federal achievement badge in silver

The Federal Achievement Badge in silver can only be acquired with the bronze level.

The composition (distribution of the individual functions) of the competition group that wants to acquire the silver level will only be drawn under the supervision of the main referee immediately before the start of the performance competition. The competition group must achieve a minimum number of 320 points.

The federal achievement badge in gold

The federal achievement badge in gold can only be acquired if the level silver is present, not on the same day of the competition, but at the next possible competition.

The composition (distribution of the individual functions) of the competition group that wants to acquire the gold level will only be drawn under the supervision of the main referee immediately before the start of the performance competition. The competition group must reach a minimum of 370 points.

In all three performance competitions, the competition groups have to perform the following:

  • Fire fighting attack (dry)
  • Obstacle relay race
