The Jever Fire Brigade Museum is a museum in Jever that is dedicated to the history of fire fighting and the fire service .

history

The museum was founded by the Feuerwehr-Oldtimer-Freunde e. V. and set up on a voluntary basis in a former goods shed at Jever station. In 2011 the Oldenburg Fire Brigade Association took over the management of the museum. In 2011 an extension was also completed which will house the vehicles in the future.

exhibition

The fire brigade museum offers a variety of exhibits on the subject of fire brigades and their history. The centerpiece of the collection is a number of old fire engines from the period from 1937 to 1971. In addition, historical helmets, small fire extinguishers, breathing apparatus, first aid material and uniforms are presented in showcases. Another focus of the museum is radio and reporting technology over time.
