Feusel

A Feusel is old slang term for an inflammation of the parotid gland .

Feifel is a synonym for Feusel: "This is what ignorant quackers, empiricists, blacksmiths, carters, coachmen call the large ear glands (parotid) and every swelling of them is given the name Feifel." ( C. Walch : Manichfaltiges aus der Tierärztlichen Welt ).
