Fibrous hamartoma of childhood

As Fibrous hamartoma of infancy or subdermal fibrous tumor of childhood is called a rare benign soft tissue tumor, the first time in 1956 by Australian pathologist Ralph Douglas Kenneth Reye described. The tumor lies in the lower layers of the skin or the subcutaneous tissue and occurs primarily in the armpit , shoulder or upper arm area . It mainly affects small children in the first two years of life. The clinical course is usually benign even after an incomplete resection .
